P2 had lots of fun becoming scientists this week! After reading The Gingerbread Man, they made predictions about why he couldn't simply swim across the rver. They loved putting on their lab coats and getting stuck into their experiment, testing their ideas and making lots of mess along the way. 

We investigated what happened to each part of his body when he went into the water. We discovered that his body began to break apart, his icing smile disappeared, his chocolate eyes sank and the sugar on his buttons dissolved. 

We can't wait to put our thinking caps on and come up with some creative solutions to help him cross the river safely.
